Thank you for visiting Baloani, which I hope will prove to be a great point of reference for your personal philosophical

and spiritual journey.

My name is Paul Becque. When I first dated my wife, she called me Beqster, and the name has stuck! Now my friends and work colleagues use it too.

Since I was a child I wanted to know what life is all about. Consequently, I’ve studied many different beliefs and kept an open mind.

Buddhism and Taoism have been very inspirational for me. And, more recently, “The Secret” and our growing knowledge of quantum physics has taken me to an even deeper level of commitment to my discoveries. “Baloani” is simply a video diary of my journey and a reference point for anyone that resonates with my exploration.

Just Do It!

Blog week 18   -   9 June, 2010

This weeks chapter in Jack Canfield’s The Success Principles is about facing your fears and doing it anyway. Well, I’m definitely doing that. Over the past few weeks I decided to go and look for my dream car, test drive it, visualise it and begin to bring it into my life. When the opportunity came up to actually buy it... there was fear... knocking at my door! It was a real struggle. I don’t know what my problem was... Guilt? Thriftiness? Unjustifiable? I don’t know. But I came up against a brick wall and said “no” to the car.

But as Jack says in this chapter... face the fear and do it anyway! So I did. And I’ve bought the car. It’s amazing. It’s soooo exciting. It’s changed the way in which I think and feel about myself. It was the best advice that I have ever been given. I really did break through my old way of thinking and get myself into a new paradigm. And I’m loving it!

If you’re facing fear... if you’ve got

your vision board, know your dreams

and just can’t seem to move on...

think about fear. Is something

holding you back? A thought

process? Guilt? Fear of looking

stupid?... Hey, I’m putting my whole

world on the line here... letting

anyone that might have the

slightest interest in this stuff, see

if it works for me... and if I doesn’t,

holy crap... I’m gonna fall flat on my

face in a global way!

But I think it’s worth the risk, and

the further down the “rabbit hole

I go, the more excited I get about

my future... and it’s becoming my reality. I’m seeing myself in my dream home in Amersham, I’ve just booked a holiday to meet Santa in Lapland for Christmas 2010, I can imagine my tv career booming and being able to reach more people, brightening up their days, making them smile, and even laugh.

You’ve just got to face your fear and have a go.

The great news is... the personal development guru’s seem to understand that it’s not easy, that it’s easier said than done and there are plenty of choices when it comes to getting help. One of my favourite books, and it’s battered now because I used to carry it everywhere when I first got off the cruise ships in 2004 and spent a year trying to break into tv... is Peter McWilliams’ “Do it! Let’s Get Off our Buts”. It’s simple, it’s straight forward and there are plenty of ideas on how to actually get going.

And that’s exactly my story with the Cadillac I just bought... what if I can’t afford to run it, what if I can’t afford the insurance, what if I can’t afford to get it serviced... well, I’ve leapt in, feet first, and I’ll let ya know if the “what if’s” come to pass over the coming months and years... I gotta believe and focus on the fact, that they WON’T!!!

The Rainforest Site

And what about me? My journey? Well, it doesn’t seem as if much has happened to me this week. But the truth is, this project isn’t about overnight success... and the site is only 18 weeks old! And in that time I have already experienced growth. The fact is, it wasn’t easy and I have struggled at times. I have been forced to face my fears and do it anyway... and I have! And it’s liberating. It’s like removing chains when the first baby step is a success.

But even now, I have an issue at work that I’m uncomfortable with and I’m actually annoyed at the way in which I feel. I am aware of my feelings and I now know that I am 100% responsible for the outcome... E + R = O .

I know that only I am responsible for my feelings and I have the ability to stop them whenever I want, or at least change them, and yet I don’t seem to be able to. I can’t shake them.

Tosh! Poppy cock!! Of course I can. Just being aware of the problem is a start, and I must deal with the feelings from my new perspective... use my “Baloani” education to step “out of myself” and get a bigger, clearer picture, and turn the emotions around, making them into a positive experience. I can see the down side... what’s the up side? What’s the worst that can happen?... what’s the best that can happen? See what you WANT... not what you don’t want!

There is no point in gaining this momentum, making a break through and then reverting to my old ways... So this is a perfect testing ground. Just writing about it is making me feel stronger, and more determined to get my brain into order!

Bob Proctor talks about Fear

Feeling Anxious is a natural part of life, we’ve all been conditioned to do it, and most of us and doing it far too often.

Life Coach Hale Dwoskin, who brings us “The Sedona Method explains that FEAR is nothing more than

               False

               Expectations

               Appearing

               Real

It makes it clear that we are all concerned about the big “what if”.

Hale Dwoskin talks about Feeling Anxious
Robert F. Kennedy (1925 - 1968)
Only those who dare to fail greatly
can ever achieve greatly.

And this is where it gets really exciting... if this is all true... if I can prove that The Secret has worked for me, that the “Law of Attraction” is real and working for all of us... imagine what we could do on a global scale... holy mackerel... the change would be immense...

I want it to be true, I want to

see more people living their dreams

and helping others to achieve

their own. I want abundance in my

life so that I can do more good for

others, help them gain this

knowledge and help themselves.

There are some amazing examples

on “The Secret” and it’s really

worth watching. I met with friends

at the weekend who had read the

book, but couldn’t get into it...

my best advice is to watch the

dvd first, and then decide if you

want to have a copy of the book,

but don’t do it the other way around.

I think you’ll find that watching the dvd will fill your mind with images of the teachers, the speakers, the scenarios that they are examining, and you’ll have a clear picture in your mind when it comes to reading the book. This is the BEST advice that I can give you. If you only want to dabble in this... get your toe wet, and not make any commitment... buy the dvd, borrow the dvd, rent the dvd, get a second hand copy of the dvd... and watch it. I now have sooooo many friends at work that want to watch the dvd because they’ve seen my blog, that I’m going to buy a copy and leave it in our canteen.

I can already imagine the improvements at work, as more and more people begin to think in this manner!

Positive vs Negative thoughts
Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)
What you resist, persists.

This week is all about facing

fear and doing what it is you want, anyway! I was forced to confront my fear just a few weeks ago, so I’m ahead of the game, but can I really make this “Law of Attraction” an integral part of my life so that I can beat even the smallest of annoyances? I’m certainly

                                          gonna try.

Week 18 - 9 June, 2010

This was a busy week for me with birthday parties and friends over for Sunday roast (a great British tradition), so I only did the Hour of Power twice... and I missed it. I really missed the twenty minutes of reading that stimulates my day and gives me something to think about, I really missed the exercise, although I got plenty of that in the garden (having guests always acts as leverage to get it looking it’s best) and I missed the meditation that calms me down and gets me into a really comfortable place for the day... this week, I’m back on it, big time!

I’m also going to try and bring these exercises to my work... why not? It’s something I have to do for 40 hours a week... it’s something that constantly challenges me and provides me with emotional turbulence, so it’s time to bring “the Law” to work! Use it to generate stronger working relationships, new neuro-pathways (thought patterns), more fun, enjoyment, positive outlook and unparalleled results! Oh boy... this is gonna be interesting!!!

But what a great idea. When you consider that I can’t turn my back on work, I have to face it five days a week and could make it so much more enjoyable... I’m excited just thinking about it. Let’s get going... let’s rock the joint... let’s make a difference that everyone notices, and wants to know... “what happened!!!”

Next week, Jack says... “Be willing to pay the price”!

Until then...

Started to address my diet already, only small steps but it is a positive start. Keep the website going I'm sure it will continue to inspire many others too. Hope you are enjoying the Caddy! Xx

Alan Roberts     09 June 2010, 17:33:42

hey paul I am so pleased your are elated about the changes in your life, but is it just the theory of all you have learned that is changing your life, or the actual physical solid changes that you are experiencing due to all you have learned? I’m not being sarcastic, but i know you don’t mind peeps putting questions your way. luv yer like a bro dood. :)

Thanks for posting the Bob Proctor video! Love it!!! Deal with the CAUSE!!! Face the thing you fear, and it leaves you. Loved the car buying that you shared. There are a few things for me to face that I have been avoiding. Time to step it up and open the door!

Fantastic car, Paul. Congrats!!

Florence Haridan     14 June 2010, 09:05:08

Listen to what you said right in the beginning of the video. "I do not think I should have an incredible to success to share each week." WHY NOT!!  How we look at our lessons each week ARE the successes! I love that you see this as a journey as do I, yet I am also sure that our THOUGHTS and WORDS are powerful. This week, i have been dealing with saying goodbye to a relationship. I have fun work in my life and have allowed the thoughts of want to distract me. In this moment I know that what I have learned about myself this week has been exactly what i needed to learn. I am grateful I have been willing to look at and reach out to understand where these feelings are coming from so I may recreate them... F

I ordered the book and DVD of The Secret as well as Jack Canfield's The Success Principles and it is like someone switched a light on for me! Tracey Giles     15 June 2010, 11:09:40

I needed to get my ass in gear but didn't know where to start, this has given me that push. The link to NHS Change 4 Life was very helpful. I have started on Jack Canfield's book, gonna read it all thru once then go back and start applying the principles. We run our own business and this stuff is really helping me to focus on what I need to do to get results and more importantly giving me the confidence to go for it. Read The Secret and watched the DVD too. Vision boards made. Full steam ahead-bring it on! xx"

Jacques Gagnon     15 June 2010, 11:52:44
