Thank you for visiting Baloani, which I hope will prove to be a great point of reference for your personal philosophical
and spiritual journey.
My name is Paul Becque. When I first dated my wife, she called me Beqster, and the name has stuck! Now my friends and work colleagues use it too.
Since I was a child I wanted to know what life is all about. Consequently, I’ve studied many different beliefs and kept an open mind.
Buddhism and Taoism have been very inspirational for me. And, more recently, “The Secret” and our growing knowledge of quantum physics has taken me to an even deeper level of commitment to my discoveries. “Baloani” is simply a video diary of my journey and a reference point for anyone that resonates with my exploration.

Blog week 19 -
This is another week of working away at the bigger picture. Focusing on the end result and trusting that it will all come together. Seeing the images of my dream life on a daily basis is really encouraging me to work harder, push more, take bigger risks to get the outcome that I am after... it takes courage to believe and move forward... I love the way Jack Canfield explains it in “The Secret”. He says it’s like driving a car at night, you can only see the distance that the headlights of the car allow, but if you carry on mile after mile, you will get to your destination, even though you couldn’t possibly see it when you set off.
Well, I’ve decided to forge ahead. I don’t know if the increase of confidence has come from buying the Cadillac, the meditation or the continual observation of my vision board... but I’m hungry for the results and I’m determined to continually edge forward towards them.
So I’ve made a plan to be more successful at work and I’ve begun looking at a number of ways in which I can improve my own performance and make a difference to the people around me. Here are some of the ideas that I plan to utilise:
<script type="text/javascript">
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
try {
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-
pageTracker._trackPageview();
} catch(err) {}</script>

There are no end of videos on YouTube where you can hear your hero’s and shero’s talking about their success, and how they’ve had to remain focused, or gamble everything they had to make it. Inspiration is abundant on the internet, you just need to look for it. And for people to become the very best at their game, their business, their sport, they didn’t just get lucky... they gave it their best shot, time and time and time again. The more videos I watch, the more I realise that I haven’t been that focused! What can I achieve if I am?
Additionally, to chase that dream I began planning our Christmas vacation, and want to make it the best one we’ve ever had... so I found
a trip to Lapland which gives the kids a chance to meet
“Santa” and enjoy an incredible amount of snow, with
skidoo’s, skiing, sledge rides with huskies and reindeer...
it looks amazing!
And we didn’t stop there! As plotted in week 7, we have a three-
for a couple of years and then
move, or move even earlier! I’m
well aware that we can make
plans, but have to be available to
alternatives.
And that... brings me to another
Interesting point. Some friends
have suggested that Baloani®
isn’t really working because I said
that I planned to buy a Porsche
Cayenne... a sporty SUV and ended
up with a Cadillac CTS... a family
saloon.
Great point, and I can understand
why they’ve made that observation,
but the truth is, and my wife will
tell ya just how true this is... I couldn’t actually make up my mind what car I wanted...
there was a slew of make-
I’ve always fancied a Porsche and I thought the Cayenne would be the perfect combination. We went to see a 15 year old Bentley... it was still £60,000! No way. No how. Not yet. But some Jaguars, BMW and Mercedes were very affordable... Cadillac didn’t even cross my mind... we rarely see them... I think I’ve seen one, and presumed it was imported.
It was by following my desire to get a new car, and NOT being attached to the outcome that I came across the Cadillac... and believe me... it’s fulfilling my wildest dreams... in fact, I feel a little self conscious in it at the moment and almost feel unworthy of such a beautiful machine... but I’m settling in!

This week we look at
Paying the Price for success, having the courage to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. In some cases it will mean more work, harder work, more training, more practice, more money and more risk taking. I’m gonna start with simple improvement of work
habits!

So the discipline of exercise, visualisation and meditation continues... the Hour of Power is a joy and if I’m unable to fit it into my day, I miss it. Onwards and upwards!
And finally a huuuuge thank you to everyone that has been sending messages of support and thanks... it’s really appreciated and it’s great to know I’m not alone. Please feel free to add your comments, your thoughts, your own personal stories.
Next week’s chapter is called “Ask, Ask, Ask”.

the complete package

Commit myself to the utmost quality
Watch my attitude (it’s the first thing people notice about me)
Set higher personal goals and attain them
When I arrive at work, the first thing I say will brighten people’s day
Find ways to make my Boss look good
Instead of using the word problem, I’ll substitute the word opportunity
When facing a difficult task I’ll act as if it were impossible to fail. If I’m going after Moby Dick... I’ll take along the tartar sauce!
Commit myself to constant and never ending improvement
I’m always been a hard worker, but these new goals are designed to make me a “smarter” worker! Not necessarily more work, but working in a better, more productive manner. And I already believe, that just by paying attention to these details, by focusing on each area, I can make significant improvements for myself and those around me. Don’t forget, I already love my job... but I want to take it to a new level.
Reading Chapter 16 of “The Success Principles” regarding “Paying the Price” has brought these ideas to my attention. Jack talks about athletes and the amount of training they put in to become the top of their game, and it’s often relentless. Although I’m good at what I do... I can be better... and being better can only lead to more success... so I’m going for it.
If you need inspiration, and you’re wondering if more effort, training, constant and never ending improvement pays off... watch this!

hi Paul... some Journeys can be short, some can last a life time... once you have started on its path it may take unexpected twists and turns, you may even have to go backwards to go forwards... defeat is an obstacle that you can get round... sometimes just a few steps can take years... just keep the end destination in sight... you are allowing us to share this trip with you, and although at times we may laugh and mock... ultimately we are all supporting you.
